What is Digital Painting?
Digital Painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, pastels, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet, digital artist brush, stylus and painting software. The artist creates the digital painting directly on the computer. The finished digital painting is transferred to fine art canvas via museum quality Giclée Printing.
My digital paintings are giclées on premium artist canvas. Each canvas is hand wrapped on a wood stretcher and ready to hang. A protective gloss finish prevents fading & cracking. The finished giclée canvas looks similar to a traditional oil painting on canvas. The side depth is of the wrapped canvas is .75”, the sides are white. I offer framing too.

What is Giclée?
Giclée Printing (pronounced Zhee-clay & Jee-clay) is used by major art museums for archiving entire collections. The giclee process involves spraying microscopic dots of ink onto fine quality art canvas. The combination of archival inks and fine artist canvas yield stunning light fast vibrancy and longevity of approximately 100 years.
How to order your painting:
1. Email or mail me the photo or photos you would like me to use to create your painting (see “Emailing Me Your Photos” below for instructions.) Please include any special instructions or questions you have. When I receive your photos I will respond quickly with my ideas and suggestions.
2. Go to my Sizes-Prices-Order page, choose the canvas size you prefer & place your order. I will send you an email to confirm I have received your order.
Custom sizes are available upon request.
3. When I have completed your digital-oil portrait painting I will email you a proof of the painting. At this stage I can make adjustments to the painting per your request. When you have approved of the proof I will ship the finished painting on canvas to you.
Emailing Me Your Digital Photos:
If possible, email the original photo jpeg file. Please do not compress or reduce in size.
Emailing Me Your Photo Prints:
Scan your photo print at a large size & high resolution, the higher the resolution the better (300 DPI.) If you need help with this email me or call me.
If you don't have a scanner you can take the photo print to a copy store - the copy store will scan your print and put it on a photo CD.
After you get the film photo scanned, e-mail me the scan file, or ask the copy store to email me the scan file.
Emailing Me Your Photos via USPS Snail-Mail:
If you are unable to email a photo file, send a CD containing the photo file or send a photo paper print and I will scan it.

Personal checks?
Yes, you can mail me a personal check. When I receive your check I will email you to confirm it has arrival. Please make your check payable to Joe Dea.

Combining Multiple Photos:
I can create a painting from one photo or I can seamlessly combine multiple photos, add or remove people, pets, objects, buildings, backgrounds and just about anything you can imagine.I charge $50.00 per additional photo.
Framing
Add a Black Floater Frame for a sophisticated finish. Each frame is hand-assembled using high quality Radiata Pine. The framed canvas is ready to hang right out of the box. When you place your order you will have the option to add a frame.
How long does it take to receive a painting?
It depends on how busy I am, once I have received your order it generally takes me three to five working days to email you a proof. If you are in a rush I may be able to get it to you sooner.
After you approve of the proof it generally takes five to ten working days to receive the canvas. If you need it faster you can choose express shipping when placing your order.
My canvas giclées are usually printed & shipped through Costco directly to you.

It is my #1 priority to make sure you are happy with your digital-oil painting giclée on canvas. If you are not completely delighted with your finished art, return it to me within 30 days for a full refund. Please send the painting in the original shipping tube with appropriate insurance. You are responsible for return shipping fees.
